Day 1: Setting Yourself Up for Success
Building a workspace and starting a new showfile.
Patching simple and complex fixtures.
Building presets for fixtures.
Creating a 2D plan for fixture manipulation.
System networking basics.
Day 2: Programming Fundamentals
Understand the different types of playback functions (cues, submasters, chases, etc).
Working with cues and cuelists.
Using macros.
Programming theory; keeping yourself organized to maximize your effectiveness.
Console networking.
Day 3: Dynamic Programming
Working with moving head fixtures.
Building effects using the FX Engine.
Building effects using Dylos.
Each day includes a balance of lecture, demonstration, and workshop time. During the workshop time there are specific prompts, based on real life experience, that will challenge you to think through and start integrating what you have learned before we move on to the next topic.

Chris Chalk (“Chalky”)
Lead Trainer
Chalky is a lighting programmer with 20+ years of experience. He has worked in film and television as well as live events (including concert lighting and corporate events). He is a certified ONYX trainer. He is fluent on both ONYX and Hog consoles.
Sada Devereaux
Assistant Trainer
Sada has worked theatrical lighting design since completing her bachelors degree on the topic in 2008. She is primarily a film lighting draftsperson, but she is also proficient in ONYX. Sada designed and wrote the course book for this training,

The cost of the training varies a bit depending on where we are teaching it. We do our best to keep thing affordable, so the pricing is influenced by the cost of presenting in each specific community.

Full refund if you cancel up to 1 week before the course.
50% refund if you cancel up to 48 hours before the course.
No refund if you cancel with less than 48 hours notice. (But we are happy to accept a transfer if you want to send someone else in your place.)
